Swim Queensland is both a new event AND concept and will launch World Series Swims on Saturday October 24th 2015. 3.8km, 2km, 1km and Junior 1km & 300m events offering courses for all ages.

Every year, the event will travel to a different Queensland beach to offer a fresh, new challenge. In 2015, Swim Queensland will be held at Mooloolaba, one of the Sunshine Coast's most popular beaches.

For some, open water swimming can be a daunting concept. So, we've designed a safe, achievable course with a range of distances – it's as close to a pool lane as you'll get in the ocean.

We'll have events for every ability, from kids and beginners through to competitive swimmers and triathletes in training. Choose a distance, start training and kickstart your summer!

THE EVENTS

Marathon Distance (3.8km)

Test your mettle in a 3.8km ironman distance swim at one of natures great open water arenas.

A 3.8km swim is not for the faint hearted, but with a two lap format, this course provides the perfect opportunity to take on the longer distance.

Long Course (2.0km)

This event is a great stepping stone for the summer ahead and an ideal hit-out for triathletes before the Noosa Triathlon.

Short Course (1.0km)

The 1000m short course is the perfect introduction for less experienced ocean swimmers. The sheltered waters of Mooloolaba Beach is also an ideal location to make the transition from pool to open water.

Junior Giants (300m & 1.0km)

The Junior Giants Series is a great new opportunity for kids aged 8 – 16 years to compete with other swimmers their own age. We have a short & long course to choose from at every location where all swimmers can enjoy the thrill of a beach sprint finish.

Events at Mooloolaba include:

300m Kids Dash (8 yrs to 16 yrs)
1000m Junior Giants (10 yrs to 16 yrs)
We also encourage family and friends to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids in the 300m Dash.

The 1000m event will use the same course format as the 1000m Short Course event.

Every participant receives a free event t-shirt and opportunity for a signing session with Olympic legend, Michael Klim and other special guests.
